"Why are the Gatekeepers angry at you?" Chelsea asked, sounding confused.
"I think it's because she deceived them and stole one of their superweapons." Monica told her in a deadpan way. She sat next to Chelsea at the table. The the other side of Monica was Lily, who laughed nervously to the answer.
"Ooooh!" Chelsea said as the answer became clear to her.
The officers of the league sat at the table, watching and listening to the aftermath of the courtroom proceedings.
"Some rogue time traveler stole one of our-- ahem-- she stole the Fomalhaut superweapon and became the dictator..." Aiko said in the proceeding.
"Ha ha! That's my cue!" Legionnaire Imperatrix said. She had been waiting for this exact moment. "I'm going to give them a surprise visit!" She said with a mischievous and menacing grin.
"Wow! Can I go with you?!" Chelsea asked. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Fine. Just don't embarrass me, nor do anything that'd give me secondhand embarrassment. You're an ambassador to us, and your actions represent us." Imperatrix said in a more serious tone.
"Informally speaking, she means to not put the... you know what... in ambassador." Roberta said. Christina burst out laughing, Monica chuckled, Imperatrix nodded with acknowledgement, Claudia looked surprised but chuckled, Lily and Chelsea looked confused.
Roberta approached Chelsea and Lily and whispered the answer to them.
"Oooooh!" Chelsea said before she laughed.
"Oh my..." Lily said.
Imperatrix stood up from the table and walked to the middle of the room to cast a teleportation circle. It glowed brightly. Her familiars flew around her as did magic dust and energy from the circle.
"If you're wondering how I got them on our side, it's a complicated story, but I can tell you when I make my glorious return!" She cheerfully said just before she teleported away to the courtroom.
Meanwhile in the courtroom, the Gatekeepers were explaining the situation when a teleportation circle opened in the middle of the room. A pink beam of light rose out of the circle. Pink and white magic dust clouds rapidly swirled around it, immediately catching everyone's attention.
Imperatrix's silhouette emerged from the circle, and it was recognizable enough to immediately instill dread in three of the Gatekeepers. Thutmose looked stoic but annoyed.
"Greetings!" Imperatrix introduced herself. Her voice carried across the entire room. The dust cleared and her appearance was in view. She briefly glanced at the group of stranded people before she turned towards the Gatekeepers again.
"Delighted to see me? Hehehehehehe... I shall extend my greetings to these chumps you put on trial!" She greeted them. She turned towards the stranded people again. "My name is Ima, but you all shall address me as Legionnaire Imperatrix, or as Your Fabulousness!" She said while she posed.
"I'm the head of the League of Paine, and your new ruler! We have 90% of the population under our control but it'll be 100% soon enough!" She continued to boast, and was prepared to cheerfully and shamelessly confess her crimes. "I achieved this by stealing a superweapon and crashing space-time through time travel!"
She laughed before she continued. "This timeline is a lot better, isn't it? You can cooperate with me, or I can crush some dissent!"
There was silence in the room. After a few moments, she continued. "It's your choice, and let me introduce you to my elite officers. You might know a few of them!"
A circular holographic screen appeared in front of her, and Chelsea was on the screen. "I'm Princess Chelsea! I'm the ambassador!" She introduced herself.
The group of stranded people had only moments to think about this before the next person appeared on the screen. Chelsea, one of their students or classmates, was part of this group in power, and is also a princess?!
Lily was on the screen next. "Umm... my name is Lily. I'm the economic and strategic advisor... I'm also a prison warden!" She said. Her introduction left many in the group with a nervous chill.
Monica was on the screen next. "Monica, head of the military." She stoically introduced herself.
Claudia was next. "Claudia, head of the communications department." She said, sounding stern and confident. Her introduction was as much of a shock to her former teachers and classmates as Chelsea's was, but in some ways more. She seemed more confident here than she had been before.
Roberta was next. "Roberta, co-head of the weapons research and development department."
Last but not least was Christina. "Christina, co-head of the weapons research and development department!" She boasted. To Katt and a few others who knew the history of the Magical Renegades, Christina appearing with the League was the biggest shock of them all. Her appearance changed but it was still unmistakable.
